Clinical Research Collaboration Network ; CRCN
With the initiative of Consortium of Thai Medical Schools (COTMES), CRCN was originally established by the support of Rockefeller Foundation in 2000 to build up and enhance the potential of collaborative research management and strengthen capacity development in Clinical Research in Thailand to meet the urgent need of collaborative research in medical institutes in order to enhance the efficiency of national medical services. Moreover, we had received funding from the Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI) (2002 – 2008), National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) (2005 – 2007) for developing plan to clinical research knowledge sharing and the quality of research data management (2008). Additionally (2008) CRCN was received funding supported from COTMES to manage the collaborative network and established Clinical Research Center (CRC) in the newly Medical schools. Also, in 2008 Medical Research Foundation was established to be a legal body of CRCN
History
In 2000, the Consortium of Thai Medical Schools and Health System Research Institute (HSRI) jointly set up the collaborative research coordination network, which was originally funded as International Health Research Award by the Rockefeller Foundation (World Health Organization), with the specific network objective of coordinating and promoting multicenter clinical research in the country. The network has later called “Clinical Research Collaboration Network” (CRCN). CRCN received funding supports from various sources such as HSRI and National Research Council of Thailand to strengthen multicenter clinical research among clinical investigators of the country.
The network_single_quote_s research priorities focus on quality of medical care, health technology assessment, economic evaluation and quality of life of the common clinical problems. These efforts have been undertaken with a view to achieve affordable health care and better health of the population.

‘To enhance national and international collaborative clinical research to set the health policy for a better healthcare Thai population.’
Mission
1) Initiate multicenter study to solve public health problems.
2) Develop the management systems to support the quality of project and data management for multicenter study.
3) Raise and manage funding to support the collaborative Clinical Research.
4) Represent as a national clinical research management Center.
5) Train and develop clinical research professionals
